What Is Peflon PTFE Micropowder

PTFE micro powder, also called micronized ptfe powder, is made by controlled degradation and micronization of PTFE resin, then precisely classified into a fine, free-flowing powder. It disperses into inks, coatings, plastics, elastomers, and lubricants. In coatings (powder, wood, coil), it lowers friction and boosts scratch and mar resistance.

  • In printing inks, it increases rub and slip without dulling color.
  • In engineering plastics like PA, PBT, and PP, small doses cut wear and noise in gears and clips.
  • In greases and dry-film lube blends, PTFE micro powder gives long-lasting slip under heat and chemicals.

Features

  • Low friction for easy slip and release
  • High heat and chemical resistance
  • Fine, uniform particles for fast dispersion
  • Improves scratch, wear, and abrasion at low dosage
  • Non-melting and non-migrating; stable in most binders

All Grade of PTFE Micropowder

Pelfon’s PTFE micro powder has many grades for different applications. Through molecular design and surface modification technologies, our PTFE micropowders address diverse material challenges with precision. They can blend with other materials and add content from < 1% to 20%, with different usage for different content.

Grade D50 (μm) Bulk Density (g/L) Key Features Typical Applications
PF-568 4.0–4.5 300–350 Fine PTFE micropowder with good dispersion and gloss improvement. Printing ink and ink-jet powder.
PF-575 20–25 400–500 Coarse particle, strong wear resistance and sliding improvement. Engineering plastics and elastomers.
PF-576 12–15 500–600 Balanced particle size with wear resistance and friction reduction. PA, POM, PBT, PC/ABS and modified plastics.
PF-578 5–6 400–500 Uniform particle distribution with excellent lubrication and heat resistance. Modified plastics and elastomers.
PF-583 2.5–3.5 200–300 Very fine particle for suspension stability. Lubricating oil systems.
PF-585 3–3.5 200–250 Fine particle with low density for smooth dispersion. Lubricating oil systems.
PF-588 0.1–0.4 250–300 Ultra-fine grade for high-end lubrication, equivalent in performance to 3M’s 9207Z. Special lubricant systems.
PF-595 4–5 250–550 Wide-use grade with wear resistance and gloss improvement. Plastics, inks, lubricants and elastomers.
PF-597 10–12 250–550 Medium particle for friction and wear control. Engineering plastics and rubber.
PF-598 4–5 250–550 Balanced performance across lubrication and dispersion. Plastics, coatings, inks and elastomers.
PF-599 3–4 250–550 High whiteness, easy blending, strong lubrication. Plastics, coatings, grease and elastomers.

Why Choose Peflon PTFE Micropowder

Choosing Micropolvo de PTFE is not about chasing performance claims.
It is about avoiding batch drift, re-testing, and supply surprises once production starts.
Peflon focuses on reducing these risks for distributors and manufacturers.

PTFE Micropowder Built to Control Raw Materia

If PTFE Micropowder varies, formulations drift and rework begins.
Peflon supplies PTFE Micropowder with defined particle size ranges to keep material behavior predictable.

  • Less formulation adjustment

  • Fewer batch-related issues

Problems are usually found after delivery—when it is already late.
Peflon verifies key properties of PTFE Micropowder before release to support incoming inspection.

  • Particle size consistency checks

  • Clear material identification

FAQ of PTFE Micropowder

No. Micropolvo de PTFE is used as a functional additive, while PTFE resin is used for molding or extrusion. They serve different purposes and are not interchangeable.

No. Although both are additives, Micropolvo de PTFE and PTFE wax differ in molecular structure and behavior. PTFE Micropowder is typically selected when solid fluoropolymer characteristics are required.

Particle size selection depends on your formulation sensitivity and processing method. Fine grades are often evaluated for coatings, while larger particles are more common in plastics and compounds.

Dispersion issues are usually related to particle size choice, mixing method, or shear conditions rather than the PTFE Micropowder itself. Grade selection should match processing conditions.

In many cases, Micropolvo de PTFE is evaluated to adjust surface behavior without redesigning the base formulation. However, testing is recommended before scale-up.

Sí, Micropolvo de PTFE is commonly used in industrial production when particle size definition and material consistency are controlled.

Switching suppliers may require requalification, depending on particle size distribution and internal approval standards. Technical comparison is recommended before changeover
