Teflon Tape Manufacturer

Peflon PTFE thread seal tape, often referred to as Fluoroplastic Tape or PTFE Sealing Tape, is a thin tape made of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) material.

Different Types of PTFE Tape by Application

Peflon Teflon adhesive tape can be classified into several types according to different application requirements.

  • Pipe and valve sealing: PTFE tape is widely used in water pipes, natural gas pipes, petroleum pipes and chemical pipes.
  • Thread sealing: PTFE tapes are often used to seal threaded joints.
  • Electrical and electronic applications: PTFE tapes are commonly used in the wrapping of cables, wires and other electrical components.
  • Automotive industry: PTFE tapes are commonly used to seal and prevent oil and gas leaks, especially in engine components and hydraulic systems.

PTFE Tapes by materials

Peflon PTFE tapes can be classified into several types according to different materials.

  • Virgin PTFE Tape: Composed entirely of pure polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin.
  • PTFE Coated Glass Fabric Tape: It is a high-performance tape consisting of a fiberglass fabric base material and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coating.
  • Oil-Lubricated PTFE Tape: This tape is impregnated with a lubricant that reduces friction while maintaining sealing performance。
  • Oil-Free PTFE Tape: The PTFE resin has been specially treated to be free of any grease.
  • Expanded PTFE Tape: The volume and flexibility of the PTFE resin is increased by expanding it, usually by a special expansion process.

PTFE Tapes by process

Peflon PTFE tapes can be classified into various types depending on the processing.

  • Extruded PTFE Tape: The PTFE resin is processed into a ribbon by heating it to a high temperature and passing it through an extruder.
  • Skived PTFE Tape: The PTFE resin is peeled off into thin sheets. This process enables the production of very thin and smooth-surfaced tapes by mechanical cutting.

how we manufacture Teflon Tape

The production process of our PTFE tapes mainly consists of heat processing of the PTFE resin, extrusion or stripping into a tape material, possibly also impregnation or coating of reinforcing materials, calendering and curing, etc. Different production processes determine the performance characteristics of the tapes.

  1. Raw Material Preparation
  2. Mixing and Processing
  3. Calendering
  4. Cutting & Packaging
