Project Cases — Real Programs We Ship For
Six representative programs Peflon supplies fluoropolymer raw material into — automotive cable in Germany, PTFE-coated fabric in Turkey, green-hydrogen reactor sealing, UK water filtration, thread seal tape and PFAS-free cookware coating. Each case lists the customer challenge, the material we shipped, and what changed on their line.

At a glance
Peflon ships fluoropolymer raw material into OEM and manufacturer programs across the EU, UK, Turkey and beyond. Manufacturer since 1956, direct supplier since 2008.
Featured project cases
Each case is a real, ongoing supply program. Customer names are withheld at the request of the buyer; region, industry and material list are confirmed.
Automotive cable program for a German Tier-1
A German automotive cable manufacturer needed a fluoropolymer supply that would extrude consistently across high-line-speed runs, hold up against EU cable performance standards and deliver lot-to-lot stability that would not surface as cracking or insulation failure downstream.
PTFE fine powder for paste-extruded primary insulation and ETFE resin for thin-wall jacketing on harness wire — supplied with REACH and PFOA-free declarations per shipment.
Cables meet the EU performance specification with no cracking issues reported on the production line. Program is in repeat-order supply.

PTFE-coated fiberglass fabric for tensile architecture and food belts
A Turkish coater serving architectural tensile membrane, fire-blanket and food conveyor markets needed a PFOA-free PTFE dispersion that would build a stable coating film on glass fabric, pass EU compliance for food-contact and exterior architectural use, and run economically at production thickness.
PTFE dispersion in coater-grade solids content, with REACH, RoHS and PFOA-free statements covering the SKU range. Used across architectural tensile membranes, fire blankets and food conveyor belts.
Coated fabric ships into EU markets compliant with REACH and PFOA-free expectations, supporting the customer's downstream food-contact and architectural certifications.

Reactor sealing for a German green-hydrogen project
A green-hydrogen plant needed reactor and stack sealing that would hold up under repeated thermal cycles and aggressive electrochemistry — leak-tight at the gland to keep hydrogen losses out of the carbon-emissions equation, and traceable for regulatory reporting.
PTFE molding powder sintered into machined gasket rings and seal stock — backed up by stock plate and rod for on-site replacement parts. Reference: PTFE seals.
Customer reports zero-leakage operation at the reactor seal interface, with the program supporting their net-carbon reduction target on the hydrogen output.

PTFE thread seal tape for oil, gas, water and chemical fittings
A Turkish converter producing PTFE thread seal tape for oil & gas, water and chemical pipe fittings needed a fine powder grade that would calender into thin film without web breaks, hold density consistently roll to roll, and meet EU food-contact and REACH expectations on the water-side SKUs.
PTFE fine powder in calender-grade lots with stable particle size and apparent density. PFOA-free declaration shipped per lot. Distributed across oil, gas, water and chemical industry installers.
Production runs at target thickness without process-side breaks; converter supplies private-label thread tape SKUs across multiple end industries.

PFA filtration pipework for a UK water-treatment program
A UK water-treatment OEM was developing fluoropolymer filtration pipework intended for rollout across EU drinking-water and effluent-treatment installations. The program needed a PFA grade that would extrude into clean-bore tubing, hold up against chlorine / chloramine disinfection chemistry, and ship with regulatory documentation for water contact.
PFA resin for filtration pipe extrusion, with REACH and FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 references issued per qualifying lot. See also our chemical linings application guide.
Filtration pipes are deployed across EU water-treatment installations, addressing water-safety and environmental targets at the customer's program level.

PFAS / PFOA-free non-stick coating for EU cookware
A Turkish coating formulator targeting the EU cookware market needed a PTFE / FEP dispersion system that would deliver release performance, scratch durability and clean regulatory positioning — without traditional PFOA-class processing aids — to land safely in EU food-contact frameworks.
PTFE dispersion as the primary non-stick layer, with FEP dispersion for top-coat film build. Reference: non-stick coatings application page. PFOA-free and REACH declarations issued per lot.
Non-stick cookware coatings are applied in production across the customer's EU customer base, positioned as PFAS / PFOA-free in line with current EU food-contact direction.

Project types we typically take on
If your program looks like one of the patterns below, we are likely the right level of supplier. If it doesn't, we'll usually tell you so on the inquiry call.
OEM raw-material supply
Direct fluoropolymer resin, dispersion or stock shapes into a cable, valve, gasket, tubing or coating production line — repeat orders, CoA per shipment.
Material substitution & qualification
Replacing an incumbent fluoropolymer supplier on a qualified program. We match grade, MFR and CoA structure so your DV/PV file does not need to restart.
Distributor stock
PTFE rod, sheet, tube, PEEK plate and PVDF stock for industrial distributors. Container-load pricing and private-label packaging.
PFAS / PFOA-free reformulation
Coating and dispersion formulators moving away from legacy PFOA-class chemistry into REACH-aligned grades.
Specialty / regulated end use
FDA, USP Class VI, SEMI F-57, IATF 16949 — programs where the documentation matters as much as the resin itself.
MRO & aftermarket
Replacement gaskets, seals, packings and lined parts for plant maintenance teams. Stock-size lead times in days, not weeks.
How a project starts
A predictable four-step engagement. Most programs move from first inquiry to first qualified shipment in 4–8 weeks.
Inquiry & scope
Drawing, processing window, target volume, regulatory list. We come back with a grade recommendation in one working day.
Sample & trial
Validation sample (resin, dispersion, machined coupon, tubing) ships in 3–7 days for your line trial and lab evaluation.
First production lot
Qualified lot ships with full document set — CoA, REACH, RoHS, PFOA-free, customs paperwork — keyed to the lot ID.
Repeat-order supply
Forecast-based call-off pattern, container-load pricing, private-label packaging or distributor SKU stocking as needed.
Standards & references
The regulatory and technical anchors most often cited in the projects above. We point at the issuing body — not a competitor — so your auditor can verify the source.
ECHA — REACH & SVHC
European Chemicals Agency holds the active SVHC Candidate List and Annex XVII restrictions used in our REACH and PFOA-free declarations.
US FDA — 21 CFR 177.1550
US food-contact rule for perfluorocarbon resins (PTFE, FEP, PFA), referenced in our cookware coating and water-treatment cases.
IEA — green hydrogen reference
Independent reference for green-hydrogen production technology and emissions accounting — useful context for the German hydrogen reactor case.
ISO 12086 — fluoropolymer designation
Classification system for thermoplastic fluoropolymer dispersions and moldings — used to match grade designations across global suppliers.
FAQ — what new customers ask before booking the first call
Can you put us in contact with the customers in these case studies?
In most cases the customer asks not to be named publicly, which is why the cases above describe region, industry and material rather than company name. For programs where a reference call would help your decision, we'll ask the customer directly — typically only after we are inside your shortlist and a sample has been evaluated.
My program is smaller than these cases — do you still take it?
Yes. Several of the cases above started at sample-lot scale and grew. We supply individual 25 kg drums and pallet quantities to OEMs developing a new product, then ramp into container-load supply once the program is in production.
We already have a fluoropolymer supplier — can you match their grade?
Usually yes. Send the incumbent grade designation, the spec sheet you qualify against, and the property targets that matter on your line (MFR, particle size, melt point, dielectric). We'll come back with a Peflon equivalent and a side-by-side property comparison before you commit to a sample.
What documents come with a first sample?
Sample CoA, SDS, TDS and the relevant compliance declarations (REACH, RoHS, PFOA-free, halogen-free for cable grades). For FDA / USP Class VI / SEMI F-57 / IATF programs, share the end use and we'll add the matching declaration to the sample package. See compliance documentation for the full list.
How do you handle private-label packaging for distributors?
Several of the cases above include private-label SKUs. Send your label artwork, packaging spec and SKU list, and we'll quote container-load pricing on the labeled goods. Standard fluoropolymer SKUs — PTFE rod, sheet, tube, PEEK plate — ship out of stock.
What happens if a lot fails our incoming QC?
The lot ID and CoA on every shipment let us re-trace from your incoming QC back to the production batch and the analytical run. If the lot does not match the CoA, we replace it. If your line specification is tighter than the CoA bandwidth, we'll re-test against your numbers before the next shipment ships.
Have a program that looks like one of these?
Send the application, target material and annual volume. You'll get a grade recommendation, sample plan, lot price and lead time within one working day — and, if useful, a relevant reference from a similar program.
