Inner Diameter

Different Inner Diameter of PTFE Hose

AN "Army-Navy" is a dimensional standard used to describe hoses and couplings, especially in the automotive and aerospace fields. The following are common AN sizes — we will choose the right inner diameter for your product.

4AN (1/4 inch) PTFE Hose

6AN (3/8 inch) PTFE Hose

8AN (1/2 inch) PTFE Hose

10AN (5/8 inch) PTFE Hose

Construction

Different Construction of PTFE Hose

Smooth-Walled PTFE Hose

Smooth-walled to reduce fluid resistance, suitable for applications requiring high flow rates and low-pressure drop.

Teflon coax cable

Corrugated PTFE Hose

Corrugated structure for increased flexibility and fatigue resistance for applications requiring frequent bending.

Braiding

Different Braiding Material of PTFE Hose

Stainless Steel Braided PTFE Hose

The outer layer is braided with stainless steel, providing high strength and pressure resistance, suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments.

Nylon Braided PTFE Hose

The outer layer is braided with nylon, which is lighter and more flexible, suitable for low and medium-pressure applications.

Applications

Applications of PTFE Hose

PTFE hose is used across industries where clean, chemically inert and temperature-stable fluid transfer matters.

Chemical Industry

For the transportation of aggressive chemicals and solvents.

Medical & Pharmaceutical

Used to transport pure fluids in pharmaceutical production, as PTFE does not react with drugs.

Food & Beverage Processing

Used to convey food-grade fluids as it does not affect flavor and is non-toxic.

Automotive & Aerospace

Used in fuel, lubricant, and hydraulic oil delivery systems.

Oil & Gas Industry

Suitable for conveying oil and gas products and for fluid handling on drilling rigs.

Laboratory & Research Facilities

Ideal for use in laboratory applications where precise control of fluid transfer is required.

Key Features

Key Features of PTFE Hose

High-Temperature Resistance

PTFE hoses are able to operate over a wide range of temperatures, typically withstanding temperatures from -60°C to 260°C.

Chemical Resistance

PTFE is extremely resistant to most chemicals, making it suitable for handling corrosive fluids and gases.

Low Coefficient of Friction

PTFE has a very smooth surface and a low coefficient of friction, making it suitable for use in applications requiring reduced friction.

Non-Stick

Its surface is less likely to adhere to other substances, preventing clogging and buildup.

Electrically Insulating

PTFE is an excellent electrical insulator and is suitable for use in applications requiring insulation.

Physiologically Inert

PTFE is non-toxic to the body and is therefore widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

FAQ

PTFE Hose FAQ

What temperature and chemical range can Peflon PTFE hose handle? The PTFE bore operates continuously from -60 °C to 260 °C and resists virtually all industrial chemicals, solvents, acids and bases. Its non-stick, low-friction surface also prevents clogging and buildup.
How do I choose the right AN size / inner diameter? We supply 4AN (1/4"), 6AN (3/8"), 8AN (1/2") and 10AN (5/8") as standard. Selection depends on flow rate, pressure and the fitting system — send us your working conditions and fitting type and we will recommend the ID, or produce a custom bore.
Smooth-walled or corrugated construction — which should I specify?Choose smooth-walled for high flow rates and low pressure drop; choose corrugated when the line needs extra flexibility and fatigue resistance for frequent bending or tight routing.
Stainless-steel or nylon braid?Stainless-steel braid gives higher strength and pressure rating for high-temperature, high-pressure service. Nylon braid is lighter and more flexible for low- to medium-pressure applications.
Do you support custom sizes, OEM / private label and samples?Yes. We produce custom inner diameter, length, braid and end fittings, support OEM and private-label supply, and provide free samples with TDS and COA for qualification.
