MoS₂ filled PTFE is a filled-PTFE compound made by blending molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) — a highly effective solid lubricant — into a PTFE matrix. The result keeps PTFE’s chemical inertness and low friction while adding wear resistance, higher mechanical strength and improved creep behavior, making it well suited to bushings, bearings, seals and other load-bearing parts.
Which fill percentage should I choose — 5%, 10% or 20%?
Choose 5% for light-load applications where you want added wear resistance but the most flexibility and lowest friction. Choose 10% for higher-load sliding and rolling service. Choose 20% when the part demands the highest wear resistance and hardness in heavy-duty industrial use. Send us your load, speed and temperature and we will recommend the grade.
How does MoS₂ filled PTFE compare to unfilled PTFE?
Compared with unfilled PTFE, MoS₂ filled PTFE offers a lower coefficient of friction in sliding and rolling contact, greater wear resistance, higher mechanical strength, slightly better creep resistance under long-term load, and good thermal stability — while retaining PTFE’s corrosion resistance.
