What is PTFE Thread Seal Tape?
PTFE thread seal tape — also called seal tape PTFE, Teflon tape, PTFE plumber's tape or Teflon pipe tape — is made from PTFE fine powder. Wide-ranging applications in water, gas, oil, steam and chemical service from −400 °F to 500 °F (−240 °C to 260 °C).
Three density classes: medium, low and high. Low-density tape has a bulk density below 0.5 g/cm³; high-density Teflon tape exceeds 0.5 g/cm³.
